CLC Descendants Visit Europe

In April 2017, on the centenary of the arrival in Europe of the first CLC transport ship, The Meridian Society hosted a group of labourers’ descendants and took them to the Chinese Cemetery in Noyelles-sur-Mer in France to pay their respects and the Menin Gate in Ypres, Belgium, to lay a wreath in honour of all the Chinese labourers recruited by the British and French.
